8. International Recognition & Signatory Status
International Recognition & Signatory Status
The Bureau’s competence is subject to international peer evaluation. Signatory status is granted per scope — a certificate is recognised abroad only where the specific scope is covered by the corresponding arrangement.
Global peer evaluation
- The Bureau is evaluated by the regional cooperation body (European co-operation for Accreditation — EA) under the EA peer evaluation process, which forms the basis of the multilateral arrangements.
- Peer evaluation reports and the current scope of signatory status are available from the Bureau on request.
ILAC MRA / IAF MLA status
- Accredited calibration and testing laboratories, medical laboratories and inspection bodies fall under the ILAC MRA; certification bodies under the IAF MLA — within the scopes published in the respective arrangements.
- Use of the ILAC/IAF combined mark is permitted strictly per the Mark Rules and the current signatory coverage.
Cross-border accreditation policy
- Facilities located outside Lithuania may be assessed within a scope where the Bureau has the competence and legal basis to do so; the policy ensures that assessment resources, language and local requirements are handled without prejudice to impartiality.
