On 1 January 2026, the Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau and the Lithuanian Standardization Department were consolidated into a single, unified institution: the Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau (LA) — one authority for accreditation and standardization.

This strategic merger streamlines conformity assessment and standard-setting under the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, providing a single point of truth for national quality infrastructure.

Our Mandate

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is the formal, third-party recognition that a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB)—such as a testing laboratory, inspection body, or certification body—is competent to perform specific tasks.

It is not just about compliance; it is the highest level of quality assurance. By operating strictly according to the ISO/IEC 17011 standard, the Bureau ensures that Lithuanian products and services meet the stringent safety and quality requirements necessary for global trade.

Competence, verified. Every accredited body is independently assessed against harmonised standards by qualified technical experts.

Trust, portable. Accredited results and certificates carry the confidence of the entire European Single Market and beyond.
