Mandate

What accreditation delivers

Accreditation is the formal recognition by a national authority that a Conformity Assessment Body is competent to carry out specific testing, calibration, inspection, certification or validation activities. Certificates issued by accredited bodies receive cross-border recognition within the EA-MLA and the ILAC/IAF Mutual Recognition Arrangements, reducing technical barriers to trade across the European Single Market.
